KERKI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Kerki International Airport is located near the Turkmenabat-Kerki highway and the city railway station. The modern airport in Kerki with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour came into operation in June 2021.The new airport has become the fourth infrastructure facility built as part of the implementation of the National Program for the Development of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan for 2012-2030, according to which new terminals are being built, existing specialized facilities and services are being reconstructed.
The new Kerki airport has been assigned a four-letter individual identifier-UTAE. Also, during the grand opening of the airport complex, the Certificate of Conformity issued by the Munich International Airport to the Kerky International Airport was made public. The document, in accordance with Annex 14 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (the"Chicago Convention" of 1944), confirms that all airport parameters related to planning and design, requirements for their physical characteristics, operation and maintenance of airfields, as well as the landing, navigation, meteorological, lighting and other necessary systems used comply with international norms and standards.
The total area of the terminal is 2221 m 2 . The terminal building has a main lobby in which for passenger services there are a baggage and hand luggage drop-off area, a primary inspection area, ticket offices, a reference desk, a buffet with a cafeteria, a souvenir and newspaper kiosk, a pharmacy, a medical office, waiting areas for departing passengers and mourners. The storage unit is designed for 120 seats with a cafeteria, a mother and child room, as well as a prayer room. Upon arrival, a baggage claim hall is provided for passengers. There is also an area for servicing delegations and passengers, CIP is completely autonomous in providing. The terminal's capacity is 100 passengers per hour. The passenger terminal building is built in two floors with an equipped control tower that rises above the entire volume of the terminal building and is its dominant. The height of the control tower is 31.7 meters.
The airport uses an artificial runway with a length of 2700 meters and a width of 60 meters. The working width is 45 meters with 7.5-meter curbs, at the ends of the runway there are platforms for turning aircraft. The apron with the code letter " D " is designed for parking two aircraft with the possibility of taxiing airliners on the thrust of their own engines. 4 parking lots are provided for helicopters. The dimensions of the platform are 165 by 240 meters. The length of the taxiway is 202 meters, the width is 44 meters, the working width is 23 meters with 10.5 meter curbs.
An aircraft accidents response search and rescue operations coordination center was established at the Kerki International Airport for quick and coordinated response to emergencies. The Kerki International Airport meets the category 7 fire safety requirements. The airport has a 15,24 meter high tower to monitor aircrafts takeoff and landing operations.
• KAMAZ-12/60-63501. Fire truck Kamaz-12 60-63501 8X8, water bucket capacity 11300 l, foam bucket capacity 700 l, fuel bucket volume 220 liters, has the ability to cover the runway with foam to ensure the landing of aircraft without landing gear, in the combat crew are 6 lifeguard.
• MAN-FLF-80-114-14+250P. Fire truck MAN -FLF-80-114-14 + 250P 6X6, water bucket capacity 11400 l, foam bucket capacity 1400 l, powder bucket capacity - 250 kg, fuel tank capacity 300 l, combat crew includes 2 rescuers.
• KAMAZ ASA-20. The KAMAZ ASA-20 6X6 rescue vehicle is designed to deliver the rescue personnel to the place of rescue operations. There are 2 rescuers in the combat crew. The ASA-20 has a stationary crane, lifting weight 1.5 tons, an electric generator of 20 kW, there are hydraulic, electrical and manual tools for emergency rescue operations.
